The aluminium roof racks are finished with anti-slip rubber and fitted with lashing points. Your materials rest on a grippy surface and are secured with straps, so nothing slides. That way your load arrives as it left, and your roof stays undamaged for years.

In the roof rack system the roof bars are complemented by two aluminium side rails and a rear loading roller, also made of aluminium. The side rails are specially designed with a transparent plastic profile in which an optional LED strip can be fitted, for effective lighting around the vehicle. Special attention went into the design of the loading roller and the integrated sliding mechanism, which is housed in the plastic end cap of the side rail. The system works with springs and a purpose-developed plastic pin, so the roller runs more smoothly and the noise of vibrations and play between parts is eliminated. The result is a quieter and more comfortable user experience.

Anchored and securely locked: no risk of loose loads
A universal rack from the DIY shop or a self-welded frame will do just as well, won't it? Until a sheet comes loose at 120 km/h. If you lose a load, you risk a fine and are liable for all the damage that follows, including to the person driving behind you.

The price of roof transport on your van depends on three factors: the size of your roof, your choice of material and the configuration.

How long does it take to fit a roof rack?
We schedule the fitting of a roof rack shortly after your van is delivered. You drop off your van in the morning and are loading it again that evening.
If you add a complete fit-out of the load space at the same time, you will receive a clear schedule in advance, so your van is not off the road longer than necessary.
Should I choose steel or aluminium for roof transport?
Steel and aluminium both meet the required strength; the right choice depends on your priorities.
- Steel is the choice for the keenest price and the robust classic that can take a knock.
- Aluminium is the choice when weight matters: it is up to 30% lighter and does not rust. Less weight on the roof means more payload, and an electric van gains extra range from it.

How much weight can I carry on the roof of my van?
The maximum roof load differs per make and model and is stated in your vehicle's manual. We match the rack to it, so rack plus load always stay within the permitted roof load.
If you choose aluminium, the rack itself weighs up to 30% less and you keep the most of that roof load for your materials.
Can I extend my roof system later?
Yes, every Guntro roof system is built modularly and can therefore always be extended. You simply add rails, mounting clamps or a loading roller later without replacing the existing system.
That also makes it worthwhile when you change vans: many parts move with you to your next vehicle.
What if something on my roof system breaks?
