Transporting ladders
Heaving a 6-metre ladder onto the roof on your own? One press of a button and the ladder lift does the heavy work for you.
View solution →A ladder loading system for your van lowers the ladder to ground level on a tilting sled, even on a high roof. You load and unload standing upright, without climbing onto the bumper.
Scrambling onto the bumper, reaching, and hoping the ladder doesn't slide along. With a high roof you are too far away to apply force, and in winter you do it in the dark with wet hands.
A ladder loading system for your van turns that around. The sled tilts over a pantograph mechanism and brings the ladder to ground level, even on a tall van. You take it off while simply standing there.
Did you know there is a rear loading roller in the system? You slide the ladder onto it instead of lifting it.
A system that drops down instead of lowering is one you use only once. And anyone who then has to push the ladder back up alone feels it in their shoulders.
That is why the sled and the roof rack work together with a hydraulic brake and gas springs. The brake keeps the downward movement under control, the springs take over the weight when lifting. Up to 60 kg, and you don't need a second person for it.
Did you know the gas springs come in two strengths, 30 and 60 daN? We choose the kit that suits your ladder.
A ladder that comes loose on the motorway is not damage but an accident. And you only see that something is wrong when it has already happened.
That is why the sled's lock has a mechanical closure indicator: you can see from the outside whether it is closed. The whole system carries GS TÜV SÜD, ECE R26, ECE R27 and CE. That is not advertising but an approval in which it was pulled and pushed.
Did you know the installation is done on the original fixing points of your roof? Nothing is changed to the structure of your van.
A ladder loading system pays for itself in your back, not on your invoice. If you only have to go up on the roof twice a month, you don't need that investment.
If you load and unload every day, it's a different story: then it saves one action per stop, and one that spares your shoulders. Unsure? Then first take a look at our roof racks and ladder racks, or the full range on the Space Up roof rack page.
Did you know that lowering it yourself once says more than a brochure?

Up to 60 kg. That is enough for the usual professional ladders. If you are unsure about a heavy extension ladder, tell us the weight and we will check it before you order.
Yes. The pantograph mechanism brings the ladder to ground level, even on a high roof. That is exactly the difference with a fixed ladder rack, where you still have to climb on a high roof.
No. A hydraulic brake keeps the downward movement under control, and gas springs take over the weight when you push it back up. The movement is slow and predictable.
By the mechanical closure indicator on the lock. It shows from the outside whether the lock is closed, so you check it with one glance instead of pulling on it.
Yes: GS TÜV SÜD, ECE R26, ECE R27 and CE. These are approvals in which it was actually pulled and pushed, not a manufacturer's own declaration.
No. Fitting is done on the original mounting points of your van, without structural modification to your van.
Yes. There is an aluminium tube carrier in 2300 and 3300 mm that you mount on the system. Long materials therefore come along on the same roof.
The ladder loading system is the ladder part: the sled that lowers. The Space Up is the complete range around it, with four versions, a roof platform and optional LED lighting. We put together what you need.
