Transporting ladders
Heaving a 6-metre ladder onto the roof on your own? One press of a button and the ladder lift does the heavy work for you.
View solution →Fitting out a van for roofers starts with your working day: loading ladders from the ground, your gas cylinders securely fixed and a load space that withstands grit and wet material, roof after roof.
This is what a day looks like with a fit-out made to measure for your trade.
The roof rack lowers to street level: you slide your ladder onto it without lifting above your shoulders.
Your gas cylinders stand upright in their holder with a strap, and your burner has its own compartment. Everything stays put, even in an emergency stop.
LED on your roof rack lights up to 5 metres all around. In winter you no longer load by feel.
Your equipment stays dry and intact in the load space, and your floor and walls can withstand grit and moss.
Lashing rails and ratchet straps keep your equipment in place, from the first bend to the last pothole.
Everything has its fixed place, so loading takes a matter of minutes. More hours on the roof, fewer around the van.
Every morning and every evening the same job: lifting the ladder over your head onto the roof, even when it's pouring. Heavy on your shoulders, slippery underfoot, and in a rush it never gets any safer.
With a lowering roof rack your load comes down to street level: you slide your ladder onto it and the system lifts and lowers everything in a controlled way. That makes carrying ladders on your van a one-person job, with no lifting above your shoulders. And for your long battens and gutters there is roof transport on your van with secure lashing points.
Slide instead of drag.
Did you know… our roof racks are TÜV GS certified? Safe lifting and lowering, day after day.
In November you load in the dark and unload in the dark. Searching for that one ratchet strap, with your phone torch between your teeth, while the day on the roof has yet to begin.
With LED lighting on your roof rack and in your load space you see straight away what you are grabbing: up to 5 metres around your van. That makes work lighting for your van your first mate on site: light when loading, light when unloading and light around the scaffolding.
Light first, then the rest.
Did you know… the integrated LED lights up to 5 metres around your vehicle? Enough to light your whole workplace on location.
A gas cylinder rolling through your load space in an emergency stop: you shouldn't dwell on it, it simply must never happen. And all that grit, moss and wet material that comes in every day is meanwhile eating away at your load floor.
In our fit-out your gas cylinders stand upright in a holder with a strap and your burner lies in its own compartment, following the rules for transporting cargo safely in your van. And with a hard-wearing floor and wall panels you can protect your load space in your van: every scratch that doesn't appear is residual value that stays.
Transported safely, kept in perfect condition.
Did you know… the complete fit-out is crash tested to ECE R17? Even a full gas cylinder stays put in an emergency stop.
Laying roof tiles today, torching a flat roof tomorrow, repairing a gutter the day after. No two roofers work the same. A standard cabinet that half fits therefore doesn't really fit.
Fitting out a van for roofers is bespoke work at Guntro: we start from your work sequence and your materials and build the layout in modules. Taking on an employee or replacing your van? Then you expand, or the fit-out simply moves with you.
If you choose aluminium, your fit-out weighs up to 30% less than steel: more payload for your tiles and extra range. Read how to increase the range of your electric van.
Made to measure today, extended tomorrow.
Did you know… you can see the fit-out in person first?
Fitting out a van for roofers comes down to three things: your ladders going up and down with no effort, everything safe on the roof and a load space that can take a knock.

Fitting out a van for roofers is done to measure, so the price depends on three factors: the size of your van, your choice of material and the number of modules.
That is why we work with a made-to-measure quote: that way you know exactly where you stand, with no obligation and no duty to buy.
The layout follows your roofs: if you mostly work with tiles and slates, a strong roof rack, lashing rails and a protected load floor for heavy, dusty material come first. If you mostly do flat roofs, your gas cylinders, burner and rolls take priority. Your ladders go up and down every day in any case, so they deserve a rack with a lowering function. We draw up the layout together with you.
With a lowering roof rack: the system comes down to street level, you slide your ladder onto it and the rack lifts everything up in a controlled way. Lowering is braked, so nothing comes down with a bang. The racks are TÜV GS certified and you operate them alone, without lifting above your shoulders.
You transport gas cylinders upright and properly secured, so they cannot tip over or roll when you brake hard. In our fit-out they stand in a holder with a strap, and your burner and accessories get their own compartment. The complete fit-out is crash tested (TÜV GS, ECE R17, CE), so even your most dangerous cargo stays in place.
Yes. The system is modular: you add drawers, holders or racking later without replacing the existing fit-out. If a second van joins your fleet, you fit it out identically. That way your employee finds everything straight away and the quality of the work stays the same, whoever is driving.
We fit a standard fit-out smoothly; a complete fit-out is usually ready within two working days. We schedule the fitting shortly after your van is delivered. That way you never miss a job. On every fit-out you also get a 5-year full fit-out warranty.
Yes. We have fitting plans for almost every make and model, from a compact city van to a large L3H3, and roof racks for different roof lengths and roof profiles. Everything is anchored on the original mounting points of your vehicle, so a leased van is fine too. Together with you, we look at what fits your model.
In the short term it is, but a self-welded rack has no lowering function and is not crash tested: you keep lifting above your shoulders every day, and in a collision a loose construction on your roof is a danger to everyone on the road. Our rack is TÜV GS certified, lowers in a braked way to street level and lasts through several vans. If you take fitting out your van as a roofer seriously, you earn that difference back in time, safety and your own back.
Yes. Fitting out a van for roofers is largely about what happens on top of the van: ladders, long battens and gutters travel on the roof. The layout therefore focuses on a roof rack with a lowering function and LED lighting, a holder for your gas cylinders and a load space that can withstand grit and wet material.
Inside, your burner, ratchet straps and small materials each get their own fixed place. Guntro designs the whole thing around your work sequence.
